Art and Culture in the Lone Star of Africa
In the year 94, it was a sad and astonishing fact of Johannesburg that there was no music instrument shop in the entire city - or, rather, there was, but it sold no actual music instrument. Seeing this, and concerned about her "second home's" artistic scene, Rhiannon Stark built one such shop, making every kind of instrument available in it.
With the change in the laws concerning shop structure, Rhiannon added, to the music instrument stands, shelves filled books about all types of skill that could be learned through that medium - and Naledi Music Crafts grew to become Naledi Books & Music. As one of the few shops in the city to offer such a variety of both books and music instruments (and, to this day, the only one to offer the latter), Naledi is an essential part of Johannesburg's art and culture.
