Witches' Hammer Tour (Y93-94): Higher and Higher
For the new album, Rhiannon, Agata and Zilda had planned on working on the theme around which the band itself had been built: the lore of the witches, both through a mystical and a feminist lens. The first single of this new tour was A Night's Queen Rises - and that was a perfectly fitting title, for this was the Coven's first single to be achieve Gold Disc status. Its successor, Brising's Fire, repeated the deed, selling more than 1.500.000 copies.
This was not the only new achievement to leave its mark in this tour. On the 51st of Y93, in the city of Jakarta, the Coven played its first-ever concert to be rated 'earth-shaking'. Also in the later half of the tour, Lost in Cyberworld was released to become the Coven's first album to be awarded a Platinum Disc - though this was only achieved during the following tour.
In spite of these achievements, the Witches' Hammer tour was otherwise uneventful; its show were consistently 'revolutionary' or 'mind-melting', but it followed the same model the Coven had been following since its first tours - that is, only one concert per city. Always seeking to improve, Rhiannon sought to follow a more challenging touring model for the following tour, one that had two concerts per city, and which went on for twice the time of the previous tours.
Thus, as the Witches' Hammer came to an end, the Queens and the King took a few days of rest, for the upcoming Neverwinter Tour would prove itself a challenge unlike anything they'd faced till then...
